Progress

The Wandering Wizard is busy working on the expanded narrative which includes the additional crypt map.

The Dokk Side has done a preliminary review for editing purposes and has suggested a few edits.

We have identified over 80 creatures for the Monster Manual portion of the Core Rulebook. Something that the beta version did not have. Not all will be getting art, but the majority of them will.

Fat Goblin Games has put together a few pieces, including the new logo, which you've already seen, characters, and a preliminary character sheet. Here are a few images.

Post-Funding and More

Funding

Well, we did it! :)

We ended the campaign at 112% funded with 157 backers. Considering having put out almost zero notice and throwing the campaign together in a single weekend, I think we did pretty darn good. A huge thank you to all of you who supported this project, especially those of you who pledged more than necessary. All of you will be getting honorary mentions in the rulebook.

Progress So Far

I know it's only been a day but we've already made some good progress. Here's what we've got so far.

  • The Wandering Wizard has joined the team as a writer. He will be adding those final narrative elements and cleaning up the existing narrative. It will be taking a slightly darker turn, which is fitting for the name.
  • Rick Hershey has offered us way more than we could have asked for and will be doing a complete re-formatting, artwork upgrade, and the whole graphics package. This is going to look really, really good and we are so pleased/excited to be working with Rick on this.
  • We will be using BackerKit for the post-campaign surveys and pre-order store.
  • We are adding new creatures that weren't originally part of the plan, thanks to Rick offering up even more of his stock art that we don't already own. The Dungeoneer's Guide rulebook will come complete with a monster manual of sorts.
  • We have a new Logo, this is one of those things that wasn't part of the original plan that Rick and offered up.

The Future

It is likely that we will run another campaign in the near future to expand on our current story and discover who is behind The Skinner.

Less than 60-hours left and 75% funded!
almost 4 years ago – Fri, Jun 05, 2020 at 10:44:01 PM

Thank you!

We're a little over half-way through the 10th day of a 12-day campaign. Considering how short our campaign is, and how little notice/pre-promotion we gave (having less than a week's notice), I would say we have had a successful campaign so far. We have 326 followers and only 42 (based on the average pledge) need to pledge after the 48-hour reminder. That's a pretty good success chance, I would say. :)

Looking at the funding progress below, and knowing that there's typically a slight surge upward at the very end, I like our chances.

Also, we have someone ready to invest the rest of the funds if we don't make it... so this campaign is going to fund no matter what.

Expansion to the Story

Early in the campaign, we shared an image of a crypt that was drawn by the same cartographer and said that we were going to use it as well. Well, we are going to use that (and any other maps we can afford to buy) to expand on our story as much as we can.

Nearing the Halfway Mark - Six Days Left!

Thank you!

Thank you to the newcomers and those of you sticking it out until the end; all of you alike. Your support is so very much appreciated and we can't say enough. Our progress has been rather steady, which is really nice to see. The chart below shows us the progression over time and, according to Kicktraq, we are trending towards about 123% funded. With our 300+ project followers now, 89% of whom have not converted, we stand a very good chance at getting funded and, possibly, reaching the first stretch goal.

The Question...

Would you prefer the D&D conversion of the story, or would you prefer for us to expand on our current story and offer an additional map? Either way, we would retain the same writer for either one of them, just to get a more thrilling narrative going for all of you.

Artwork Planning

As you know, our main goal of this campaign is to get all the artwork revamped and upgraded, as well as final formatting completed, for the core rulebook and the adventure. Just to give you an idea, this is the basic idea for the cover page of the rulebook... looking back through a dungeon with the D6 Gelatenous Die Dice Mimic floating in the center as a recognizable image for the Dungeoneer's Guide brand. The white borders will go away, more than likely, and be replaced by something more aesthetic.

We do not own the artwork for dungeon corridor in the background.

Also, thank you, Scott Bates, for helping pay for that Dice artwork. :) We love all of the dice mimics!

The eight creatures will get completely redone and we'll likely change a few of them to fit the narrative better. However, we are FOR SURE keeping the Chicken Dragon, it'll just have artwork that fits the theme better. :) We will also be adding iconography to make things more identifiable.

Thanks to Alisha Volkman for the free artwork!
